Shopping & Packing List - Hajj Guide



It’s time to start preparations for the journey. The preparations required are two fold, first, the religious matters and second the traveling matters. Following is a (non-exhaustive) list of items one should have during this journey. These can be purchased either from local market or Haji camp as convenient. These can also be purchased from Saudi Arabia (except for 1x ahram) but may be expensive as compared to your local market.

Should be travel prayer rug (light weight, foldable)

2-3 plates, spoons, plastic glass + cups and if possible frying pan

For male, ones that keep foot bone exposed (you’ll loose at least one pair so better keep spare slippers)

Properly sealed by Haji camp, keep paracetamol, antibiotics (Augmentin), Anti allergy, rash medicines

Cell phone
1.       Preferable with long life battery or battery bank
2.       Smart phones should have offline maps and related apps installed. (SmartHajj is a nice app to have)
3.       Use only when required as a phone (Avoid taking pictures inside mosque specially during tawaf)

Take special care to keep it away from your slippers (most people use back pack to keep slippers and water bottles)

Following is the list of items which should be available especially if you are planning to keep your budget low (if your airline baggage limit is not crossed). These items will be available very close to your hotel in Harmain but may cost you more.

The time for Rami on 11 th to 13 th Zilhaj starts after Zawal (start of Zuhr time). For these days, crowd is lesser from Asr time. Similar to 1 st day, use the train (or your pathway) to reach Jamart building and throw seven pebbles each to each Jamara , starting from Jamarah Sughra to Jamarah Kubrah. Masjid-e-Nabawi - Hajj Guide

Before leaving for the Masjid-e-Nabawi, it’s recommended to perform Gusl, wear your best suit and apply perfume. Try to keep as polite as possible throughout your stay in Madina. Do not yell, speak loudly in the mosque , especially when going for Roza-e-Rasool (SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam) and Riaz-ul-Jannah. For entry, if it’s prayer time, get into the mosque from nearest gate and sit at the place available as far (inside) as possible. If entering from gate 1-6, make sure to sit behind the Imam’s position (marked on pillars) otherwise your prayers will be invalid. The Imam’s position is marked by the biggest White dome on roof (near Green dome). Things to Do after Successful application - Hajj Guide

Congratulations! Now the actual training begins, here are a few notes about things to do after successful application, No need to mention but…. Thank Allah for successful application, 2 Rakats Nafil for Shukrana. Make a file to put all your documents related to application. Keep the Receipt of your application safe. Identify the free of cost training facilities in your area. Most start after balloting on every Sunday, till first flight. For Karachi, Taimuria Mosque (Hyderi) and Alamgir Trust mosque (Bahadurabad) are well known for such trainings. Start collecting books on Hajj/Umra practices and religious rulings. Stick to the maslak/mufti you follow . Smaller/pocket size books and cards with Masnoon Duas are preferred. If possible, join an Arabic language course. If not already learned, go to the local mosque Imam and ask him to guide you with Makharij and Naazra for reading Quran and Duas. WALK…… A LOT. ...
